About us

In cooperation with the local church, Reformation Counseling exists to provide Christ-centered, Scripture-driven counseling that seeks to bring about genuine heart transformation through the truth of God’s Word.

We believe that the Bible is sufficient to address all matters of life and godliness, offering wisdom, encouragement, and correction for those struggling with the impacts of sin and suffering, from within and without.

Our counseling is rooted in the belief that true hope and healing comes by grace through faith, ought to be guided by the authority of the Holy Spirit speaking in Scripture, and put into action under the care of pastors, mentors, and friends in the context of a local church.

Our story, mission & values

Reformation Counseling was founded to assist churches who may not have the personnel to serve the one-on-one counseling needs, especially of the women and children in their congregation(s).

Many struggle with anxiety, depression, broken relationships, and other trials, often seeking answers in secular psychology. However, we believe that true healing and lasting change come through a renewed mind and a heart submitted to God’s truth.

Our mission is to assist pastors in their God-given ministry of reconciliation and to help restore individuals, marriages, and families by applying biblical wisdom to life’s difficulties, leading them to a greater understanding of God’s purposes and their identity in Christ.

Our emphases:

God-ordained Authority

God has given His Church pastors, elders, and deacons to be His primary means of exercising His care for His people.

God’s All-Sufficient Word

God has given His Church His all-sufficient, inerrant, and infallible Word. Secular approaches to counseling, while seeking to provide care for suffering people, often do more harm than good in the long-term (The Sufficiency Statement).

God’s Ordinary Means of Grace

True transformation happens by living out the new-identity we have in Christ, always by grace through faith and in reliance upon the Holy Spirit and His ordinary means of grace. We encourage faith, repentance, and obedience to God’s revealed will as the path to true hope, restoration, and faithfulness.

God’s Compassionate Care

While God’s Word might be clear about how we are to think, feel, and act in response to our suffering, walking through difficulties can be hard. So, we rejoice with those who rejoice, and we weep with those who weep, all while striving to walk by faith, even if not by sight.
